Yasmine Cooper

Veterinary Surgeon

Yasmine Cooper - Veterinary Surgeon
Yasmine Cooper BVSc MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon

Originally from Northamptonshire, Yasmine qualified from the University of Bristol in 2019 and started at Wright and Morten as her first farm vet job in September 2019. Working as a relief milker in a dairy goat herd and helping rear meat goats on conservation grazing in Somerset during university resulted in her pursuing farm animal medicine.

Yasmine enjoys all aspects of dairy and beef cattle practice, with a focus on proactive, preventative herd healthcare and working closely as a team with cattle farmers. Yasmine also has a specific interest in sheep and camelids. She has a particular interest in sustainable parasite control in sheep and enjoys visiting our sheep farmers in the hills of Peak District.

She enjoys being the ‘all-rounder’ vet of the team and enjoys visiting all species, great and small, that farm practice has to offer. Yasmine’s special interest lies with goats and she is the Honorary Secretary of the Goat Veterinary Society. She has published her own original research paper on goat behaviour and is enthusiastic in helping deliver training to other farm vets, farmers and vet students about goat veterinary care. She leads the camelid clinical work in the practice, helping the clinical team deliver up-to-date tailored herd health care and emergency care, from the new pet alpaca owner to larger commercial herds. Yasmine is currently working towards her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice.

In her spare time Yasmine enjoys mountain biking, exploring the Peak District with her Border Terrier Mouse and going to music gigs.
